April Shower

Do you remember this studded shorts project from last week ?

Well it hasn't changed drastically, but I prefer it this way,

full lines of studs.

Now the weather today was not very encouraging but I bravely

faced the reality of a whimsical spring !

My outfit today is simple and comfy. I'm wearing a pair of slim jeans, my suede like biker jacket and my new suede western ankle boots from Asos. Very Isabel Marant-like ! All in beige hues !

Perfect for a day like this, drizzly and quite uncertain ...

As explained to you here yesterday, here is the result of a month's work. I didn't knit full time (being a mother of three children doesn't leave much spare time...). But I saw a TV programm in March on Arte about Isabel Marant's show last autumn and they were showing one of her assistants knitting a dress for her collection.

And that's when I thought : whaouh, Mum taught me how to knit when I was young, why not try again !

There are differences of course, but I'm quite happy with the result !

The Orange Skirt

This is a very casual outfit for a laid-back Saturday.

I'm not living in a Fashion capital either.

Knowing that I'm not working at all in the fashion sphere,

I'll never be able to approach any designer's shop.

But there is something I can do with my little hands...

Another DIY Project - Studded Shorts

When I first saw this type of shorts this winter on a blog (can't remember which one! ), I firstly thought that it was not for me... You're too old, Girl ! But I couldn't help thinking about it. And eventually I made searches, essentially on Ebay to find a studs seller. Found one in Asia ! Received them after a few weeks... In between it gave me time to buy a pair of shorts, not that easy in January. And I started making pattern trials on my pair of shorts. I came to this design which I wore once or twice with thick woollen tights. As expected, people in the street were giving me a strange look... Stuck my tongue to them, mentally I mean !!!

And this morning, I came across this post by style-encounters. That gave me the idea to improve the design on my shorts. It shouldn't take me too long... I'll show you the result in a few days, probably after Easter.

Rocking Flowers

These flowers are too nice to give them a girly touch.

So I rocked them with a black vest decorated with a skull.

Fancy bracelets and rings,

and a mint slim pant to soften the whole look.

Scarf Print

Ever since I saw this scarf pattern in Zara shops, I fell in love with it.

It looks very classical on its own, but if you mix it with casual shorts,

heels or even low boots, it's quite nice !

Winter and Spring alike ?

Ok, the sun is here but temperatures are still quite cold in the morning.

I know I 'm dressed as if it was a few months back.

But I don't mind, after all I don't really like spring time.

It's too much for me : singing birds at 5 o'clock: no thanks !

Being blinded by the sun and having to wear sunnies all day long, yuk !

I'm more an Automn type of person.

I think I need a spring hibernation !

So here is my choice for today : I drove my kids to school

with a warm biker jacket.

And this afternoon i'll swop it for a trench.

By the way I need to change the trench's buttons for a brown version,

 softer to look at.

So I'm off now to the Haberdasher's to buy some.

Another sewing activity for me.

The Simpler the Better

Sometimes the less you search for what you are going to wear,

 the better it is.

As long as you keep a minimum of two or three colours,

you're sure to make it.

And black and white are a classic, aren't they ?

A touch of glittery grey, and there you go !

Wasn't it nice today again to dress in a bright and colourful way ? !

We spent the afternoon watching all the Carnival bands

dancing and playing in the streets. The atmosphere was joyful

and easy going, as the people of my region have the Know-How !

It was good fun ! !
